If you spray mist the ignition wires right down to the boot from the distributor and you don't get arcing or hear it crackle (night or day) the ignition wire insulation is sound. That does not mean there is not a break internally.

Personally, I would replace the plugs and wires.

Even if it does not fix the curent problem. If changed at 50,000 and now it has 103,000, I would do it soon.

I just changed out my wifes car at 50,000 from platinums to platinums and the old plats did have noticeable wear on them. I always do them before the recommended and thus I know I will not get mis-fire codes as time goes on.

Changed my Vette at 53,000 when I got it.
