LLC5 is right on tearing the seal if pushed all the way down...

When I replaced just my caliper lines I used a Brake Pedal Winch to hold the brake down while I bled. Kept air from entering the vehicle lines and thus you bleed only the new caliper line. Works great!

Now go play with your tools!

On mine the c clips were always on the inside. I sold my 96 FSM so can't look it up. I would get a FSM if you are going to do your own work. I think they has small flat washers also.

Has anyone looked at my pics. I've had some feedback saying I have my rotors on the wrong side. They're marked l/r and I have the left on the drivers side.

Well I'm screwed, really screwed. I forgot that slow and steady is preferable to quick and confident. I was in the home stretch, just had to put on new pads and old calipers. When 3 days of 3-4 hours sleep and the over confidence of success getting the left side all back together caught-up to me. I got mixed-up regarding the torque on the rear caliper self locking pin bolt. Apparently it's not 70 Ft-lbs but in fact 26 Ft-lbs. Any easy way to get 1/8 of an inch of bolt out of the caliper housing or maybe it's in the guide pin nut? It's the bolt on the top. I assume I need a helicoil or whatever there called, to drill it out. I seem to have heard of this but not sure.

I got very lucky. The bolt was broke right at the interface of the caliper housing and the guide pin. I was able to slide the bracket out and take the rest of the bolt out with a pair of pliers. I could not get a exact match to the bolt. I got a bolt with a hardness of 8 which should meet or exceed the original. It's black which I wouldn't think matters. But the original was a 15mm and this is a 13mm. Anyone think that would be a problem?

You know, if it were me, I'd get an oem bolt. Use what you have for temporary.

That's what I'm doing. I got it all back together and the brakes are smooth and great looking.
