I am in the process of replacing my skid plate. I have already purchased a brand new one and have had it powdercoated. Are there "tips" anyone can offer? So far I have taken the air defectors off. Thanks in advance. Bob

HI there, Just remember, you will need the Crimp nuts to mount the horn and the lower air dam correctly. Those are separate from the radiator skid bar. 13mm bolts hold the bar in. Support cooling assembly with something PRIOR to removing the skid bar. Alllthebest, c4c5 |

HI there, We do it from the bottom and support it with a rubber bungee cord going to each of the 2 front mounting bolts at the UPPER frame rail. That usually keeps the pressure off the pipes of the AC system. Allthebest, c4c5 |

Well, I got the old one off and boy that wasn't fun. Thank God I have a lift. Can I just tap those new nuts into the new skid plate? Thanks for all your help. I see someone has a skid plate system with wheels on it, but I don't think I will go that far with it! Bob

| I thought about getting a set, but it looks like they would just reduce already minimal ground clearance, and since the wheels are so small you would just crush them anyway if you were going any faster than an extremely slow crawl (which is very hard to do). | ||||||||||||||||||||

HI there, Actually, those nuts require torque to pull the end of the nut up. I usually just take a long M8 or M10, depending on the nut, and I put a nut on the bolt, then screw it into the frame and tighten the nut on the bolt towards the frame. That will set the nut into the frame so you can install your parts needed. Allthebest, c4c5 |
