HI there, Oil pumps are a difficult job to undertake. You will first have to remove the rack and pinion, then the belts, harmonic balancer. ONce those are removed, you have to remove the oil pan, and then the front cover and that contains the oil pump assembly. Its NOT an easy job, at all. What are you symptoms and why are you replacing it? Allthebest, c4c5 |

Car is coming up on 100k and want to do everything myself: radiator (dewitts) radiator hoses, oil pump, LS6 intake manifold, headers, Z06 exhaust, Vararam intake and fuel filter. I figure the pump is going to go out shortly after and why wait when I could of done it when I had the car apart. Good idea or no? Really would like to get some pics or a site on how to do it so there is little suprizes. |

The oil pump is one of the highest reliability items on the car. I always worry about creating problems I do not have. Murphy has visited me more than once when I fixed something that was not broke.
