new main bearing put in. laid plasti-gage on crank, torqued down to specs , removed main caps. one bearing in #4 cap has 2 scratches 1/4 way in on each outer edge running length of bearing. Can I use it or is it trash? Can I just buy 1 bearing and does it have to be same brand? No clue why this happend, didn't rotate crank or move it at all, any ideas? thanks. HI there, Normally, if you cannot catch a fingernail tip on the scratch, they are safe to reuse. Just validate it that way, and then go to it. Yes, you can purchase them for only one as long as the dimensions are correct. Allthebest, and welcome, c4c5 |
