CM Oil Filter??

My car is an '02 coupe 6 speed. I went to the dealer and asked for an oil filter and he puts a PF46 on the counter. I told him the manual calls for a PF44. He says the PF46 replaced the PF44. Is that true?

thanks.

Is one particular brand filter better than the other? I usually use K&N with Mobil 1 in my '98 C5 ?

I wouldn't use a Fram, ever, well maybe as a doorstop......

Bosch, K&N, Mobil 1 , Wix and the Delco are all good filters

I agree. But only if it was a cheap door.

There's a lot more involved than just cutting open a filter to see what makes a good filter. A good test of a filter involves its filtration, restriction to flow and its capability to hold contaminents before being clogged.

That's what we did when I worked in the aircraft business.

all of which Fram has performed very well in many tests. I use AC filters myself and stopped using Fram when they started putting the black wrinkle paint at the end of the filter. I couldn't get my filter wrench on it anymore.

Just my $.02
