My 2005 C6 has 12,000 miles and has developed an intermittent problem where the right door switches go dead and I cannot open the door. The only way to open it is with the manual emergency release on the floor. The dealer tech thought the window was not indexing properly and adjusted the mechanism but this did not resove the problem. Since this is a right door problem and I very seldom have a passenger I don't know how often the door goes dead. The left door always works normally. Also, intermittent there is a buzzing sound in the radio that sounds like a relay cycling. It lasts for only five to ten seconds and stops. I have no idea if this is related to the door problem. Any history or ideas as to how this may be resoved?

HI there, Possibly, if power supply is ok, the door control module may not be working correctly and understanding the signal. A scan of the system is the only real way to diagnose this one. Allthebest, c4c5 |

Thanks for the reply and insight. I am taking the car to the dealer tomorrow to see if they can detect the fault. As usual, intermittents can be a real headache. Lee

An update to the right door and radio conditions. The dealer technician could not detect any DTC's when scanning the system. The Service Manager called me the next day and suggested looking at the customer settings for the doors. In looking at the settings for the doors, it was found that prior updates to the software had set the door unlock setting to driver only . I reset the option to "both" and have not experienced the right door unlock problem since then. It has been about three weeks. As for the radio, I think I have this mystery solved. In the Spring of this year I purchased a new cell phone. I turn on the cell phone when leaving the house and the phone attempts to sign on to the local cell tower. The area I am in has marginal cell reception. The phone attempts several times to communicate with the tower creating the data transfer cycling sound. If I do not turn on the cell phone the interference in the radio does not occur. The phone is through AT&T (cingular) and is an LG model CU 400. I have a 2007 Cadillac STS with the Navigation/radio system and the radio does not pick up the cell phone data transmission. The dealer Service Manager put me on to the cell phone after he called technical service and they asked him if I was using a cell phone when the noise occurred. Initially I said "no". However, after thinking about the question, I was not talking on the phone but the phone was turned on and trying to connect to the system. A lot of information, but I hope this helps.

I thought the preference was for opening the door from the outside using the FOB's. Somehow it doesn't sound right that you couldn't open the door from the inside.
