I noticed the C6 has a TSB for loose axle nuts (actually, not properly torqued) so I decided to check mine. I was able to loosen the right side axle nut with 60 ft-lbs (just like on the C6's). I went to the dealer to get a new nut and they gave me p/n 10257766 ($10.32). This is the same nut they issued in the TSB for the C6. This new nut is a little beefier than the one it replaces (had to use a 1-3/8" socket vs. a 1-5/16") I installed the new nut with Loctite 242 and torqued it back to 118 ft-lbs. I know the C5 is not involved in the TSB, but this is one heck of a coincedence. Just thought I'd pass that on. Regards, Jim | ||||||||||||||||||||
