Ambient Light Sensor Circuit

Trying to chase down the following code on my 2000 convertible: "Ambient Light Sensor Circuit Low", DTC-B2647-C. I need to know (1). What does it do? (2). How to fix it. (3). How to get to it. (4). What do I do when I get to it? I'm not a mechanic as you can tell but can do a vew small repairs with good clear instructions. Thanks for your help... rw
