My windshield wiper door on my 1970 does not fit flush on the passenger side whereas the drivers side seems fine. I would estimate that it's sticking up just under a 3/16 of an inch and by simply applying a little pressure it goes back down nice and flush only to pop back up again. --- How do I go about correcting that mismatch on the left side? Note: It has been recommended that I remove the door but not sure how this is done? Thank you

i would try putting some grease on the linkage first. i havn't taken one apart in awhile but i don't remember the right and left side being independantly. i do kind of remember a black rubber stop on each side that the wiper door rests against when its closed. any chance that black adjustment pad just wound out a little to far and the wiper door is resting on it? i think id'e disconnect the pneumatic actuator under the hood first and work the linkage manually first to see if the one side is just sticking. the actuator is on the firewall on the passenger side of the car and is roughly the size of a pop can.

ralph, if that wiper door panel is bent a little or the linkage for that matter from hitting the rubber stop, don't be afraid to just bend it back. also, when you disconnect the actuator and work the linkage by hand it should move easily without alot of force. if your pushing hard to move the door, grease the linkage. i used marine wheel bearing grease on mine because it's water proof. mine was a 68 so it might be slightly different from yours. geno
