|  question for corvette mechanic
i recieved this e mail thru my corvette club website. "I own a 2000 corvette with 20,000 miles. I am experiencing pinging/knocking in second through 6 gear. I had my car in to Century III Chevrolet a year ago to try and solve the problem per GM's bulletin. The problem is back and I spoke to GM about it. They indicated that I have to take my car in for diagnostic first to determine if there is a problem or it is the same as last year". what should i tell him ?? thanks | ||||||||||||||||||||

I would start with a top end decarb through the intake manifold to clean the intake valves and the pistons, or a couple full tanks of techron to accomplish the same thing. Start with the basics, and see if you need to go further.

i would tell him to take it to grabiak out in new alexandria. i'de bet that they would have at least world class certified tech out there since they are a chevy dealer specializing in corvette sales. i have not called to ask grabiak to see if they had one since i have not had any problems with my vette but if i did, they would be my first call.
