CM TH350 Transmission Fluid Problem

We have a stock TH350 in a '76 C3. We replaced the radiator with one from summit racing without the oil cooler. We then attached a B&M transmission cooler to the transmission and it flows well. Once the engine is running the fluid level is fine but as soon as we turn off the fluid level goes sky high. Some guys here told us it might be that the cooler is too high but we have it horizontal at the lowest point in front of the radiator with all the connectors stock equipment. It gets so full when off that it leaks a liitle out the seals. But again when started the fluid level goes down to below full cold. Any suggestions?

HI there,
Actually, as long as your cooler isnt mounted any higher then the radiator, you should be fine.
It sounds to me like you simply need it resealed.
Every automatic transmission fluid level rises when you turn it off because the torque converter drains back, allowing the fluid level to rise.
ATP sells the overhaul kits for these relatively inexpensively.
Allthebest, c4c5

if it's the little round seal on the side of the transmission with the bolt sticking out of it (the name is escaping me at the moment) which is probably the one thats leaking, that can be done from the outside and the trans will not have to be removed. i usually put 2 seals where there should be one and that dries things up nicely.

Thanks for all the help . I will have a look and see if I can find the bolt that is sticking out of the transmisiom to see if that's where the leak is . I also noticed that when the fluid leaks out and stops the level of the fluid in the transmission is at the add a pint mark on the dip stick and when I start the engint and it reaches normal operating temp. and I check the level it's at the bottom of the full when hot mark on the dip stick is this normal?
