now this is bad ass - new malibu corvette boat

check this bad boy out. its an 08 malibu skier inboard corvette boat with the z06 motor in it. they made about 500 of these in the c4 design back in the 90's and apparently it's back in a new c6 design. the 90's vintage ones had callaway supernatural engines in them.

The C5 model looks like it is a V-drive, not a mid engine tournament boat, and has more room for the passengers. This one may sell better, the C4 boat as I remember was a flop sales wise. Like the previous model I am sure it will be extremely over priced.

i had a chance to pick up a red 97 last year for 30k with 150 hours on it but i was leary of the callaway supernatural and the availability of parts for it. if this one has the true LS7 Z06 motor i may take a more realistic shot at one of these. used of course. i'd bet these will be around 60-80k new. i did offer the guy 25k for the 97 but he didn't take it.

heres a picture of the 97 malibu corvette boat even if it is kind of small. the back end had a c4 type with the taillights and everything. i've always had a ski nautique but this definately got me interested in malibu boats and the 08 corvette boat from malibu has definately made me respect malibu boats even more.

They are pretty cool, just way pricey. I would be suprised if the new one had and LS7 in it with a dry sump, but maybe? I also don't remember the previous model with a 383 in it, I thought it was a Vette engine or a big block. Brings back some good memories.

Didn't one of the earlier packages promote the boat being pulled by a matching corvette modified for towing? I thought I saw this on one of the automotive magazines.

That would have to be a seriously modified vette. The towed weight would be 3500-4000 lbs with trailer and fluids. Could have been a full frame truck with a vette body, but I don't remember it. Like to see a picture of it though.

the original ad back in 97 had the boat being pulled by a red C4. the new ad for the 08 has a red malibu corvette boat being pulled by a red C6 WITH a tow hitch. the ad is in the march issue of waterski magazine. its inside the front cover and is a full 2 page color ad. heres a link to the picture of the boat being pulled by the c6.

i just found this. it has its own website thru malibu/gm. gives all of the spec for this combo. http://www.malibuboats.com/Corvette/index.html this has the 505hp ls7.
