I want to improve air admission on my 2002 C5 NM6 Z51. I have replace the stock air filter by a K&N cartbribge on the stock box. I have replace the big duct box between MAF and throttle boby by an after market duct with big silicon hose, and now I have a question : Is it possible to remove the grill before the MAF??? I have an air filter, so nothing can pass onto the MAF. ![]() But is it an improvement?? Is the ECM can use MAF informations and have an imporvement of performance/consomption?? And finaly is it interresting to remove the top of the air box if air filter is correctly fixed?? More air... more HP??? Thank you for all the reply. | ||||||||||||||||||||

HI there, There has been much debate about this. However, the screen is there to straighten air flow out across the sensing element of the MAF. It does restrict but on an unmodified engine, it really will not help you any. Allthebest, c4c5 |
