ok i have all the seals in and set the pinion nut to spec. Now the last bolt in the project won't go in. The dif is pined up, i put wood spacers to stop it from going to far but the last bolt in the dif hanger wont slide threw. Any idea how to bring the dif down far enough to get it in? Its on Jack stands. 1977 vett ![]() ![]() |

HI there, What bolt are you refering to? The 2 that hold the cross beam to the frame?? Or the ones that hold the differential to the cross beam? Allthebest, c4c5 |

The 2 that hold the dif to the cross beam. then on the other end is the one that has the big donut bushing. Dan |

HI there, Sounds like maybe the bolts are bent, or there is something in the casting preventing you from lining them up. Make sure you can put all the bolts in without the differential in place, before attempting to install it. Allthebest, c4c5 |

I got the bolts in. Seems like when you have the vett on jack stands the spring makes the dif go up toward the fuel tank .Takeing pressure of the springs made it easy to put the bolt in..DUH sometimes i just don't think! Thanks again Dan |
