OK...this thread is about my C6 2007 Corvette Z06's clutch. It has happened numerous times and it is documented at the delaership and apparently it has happened to others but Ihave YET to find outthe solution. What happens is that when I rev the engine high and try to dump the clutch it doesn't engage... the engine just revs freely until I let off the clutch and the pedal stays to the floor for a second and then comes all the way out without engaement of the clutch. When I took this to a dealership in the Knowxville area they said they were aware of this problem but had no solution. Can I get some feedback on possible solutions or any info out there that can shed some light on this? I did an autocross today at Bowling Green during the Z06 Fest here and had no issues but I don't treat the clutch that way since this happens with I do. No burnouts are possible the way the clutch is acting. Any help? insight? Thank you, in advance, Chris

It's a common issues with the C5/6. You just can't redline and dump the clutch. There's too much torque for the clutch to grab at high RPMs. You have to rev moderately and feather the clutch until it starts grabbing. Hi there, Fact is, its designed for maximum holding and clamping force. However, the facts are that it should NOT stick in the down position. That means that its possible that there is fluid contamination or the fingers of the pressure plate are uneven, creating a bind in the concentric slave/throwout assembly. Allthebest, c4c5

I had a similar problem previously with another car. All you have to do is, gently step on the clutch and release it. This method works best. Do not use it roughly, step it forcibly.
