CM rfg fuel or non rfg

Hi does any one know the difference between rfg and non rfg fuel and how do i know witch one i am using?? WE USE SHELL 93 ONLY here is why i ask my buddy brought his 2000 c5 over today he bought a new hypertech tuner and when he was programming it it asked for rfg fuel or non rfg fuel ? what option should he choose ? WE ARE IN STATE OF ILL.

HI there,
RFG stands for reformulated gasoline.
This gasoline has a 10 % oxygenate additive, essentially add 10 % oxygen to the fuel, so in theory it burns cleaner with less hydrocarbon emissions.
Most places used this but your label on your gas pump will tell you more about if you have the oxygenate or you have alcohol.

i always thought reformulated fuel was 10% ethanol. guess i learned something new today. thanks.

Thanks again c4c5 i was under the same assumtion as aquaholic wow what i dont know every day is a learnig one for me, again Thank you I had my buddy read up on this forum about the hypertechs and he is going to take it back to place of purchase Iknow i had one it cost me my pcm
