I agree as I like the two door vehicle myself...but...and its a big butt....

Family men buy cars that are good for their family needs as well as performance...

In fact...I'd suggest that family requirements come first...THEN PERFORMANCE..

A vehicle that can meet both requirements will sell in greater quantity and bottom line thats what counts to the manufacturers..

Sure you need the halo vehicle camaro or Mustang or Challenger...but the money's in volume pieces like the 300C/Magnum/Charger or the upcoming rwd Impala SS and Interceptor

I agree JB, it's just to offer those vehicles in only a four door version is eliminateing a segment of the performance market that might otherwise purchase a 300C/Magnum/Charger/Impala. etc.

And why can't they offer a third peddle in these cars? As an example, my wife had the hots for the T-Bird when it was re-introduced. She couldn't believe there was no manual trans offered so she passed on it.

Myself, it's gotta be a two door with a clutch or I won't even consider it.

Strong rumor that fords going to be the first domestic to offer Dual clutch sequential shift technology.

Although I hestitate to ever buy a Ford product over GM that technology does catch my interest.

Lets see if ford can leapfrog the other american brands and offer both a 2 + 2 RWD 500 hp V8 and a 4 door rwd extended version with Dual clutch technology. (better emissions/fuel economy/performance)

If they would that would be a killer deal that might just catch some well earned sales...

Probably just a rumor ......but thats the rumor all the same... DSG technology at ford..(starting with Volvo at the end of 2007)
