CM tuning warranty

I know tuning the pcm may void the warranty, but can the tech see that the pcm was reflashed or tampered with even after it was brought back to it's original state?
I don't want my warranty
How about Hypertech or Predator. Should they have a disclamer if it does void the warranty.

Got an 06 Z06 now..

HI there,
As with anything, this is a subjective thing.
First, yes, a technician can read the last 10 programming events to see what is what.
Now, as far as what it would void, subjectivity of the actual failure is what needs to be addressed.
I mean, if you have an oxygen sensor diagnostic failure, then its possible the tune created the condition.
But if your dealing with a fluid leak, then obviously its not the cause of the tune.
So, the actual failure would need to be evaluated and the customer needs to understand that there are many different factors to mods and preceived warrantees being void.
Allthebest, c4c5

Of course, its always a touchy subject.
Fact is, the lines of warranty vs no warranty can be VAGUE at times.
Your technician needs to really understand what can do what with a PCM tune.
Most of the time, tuning doesnt cause much harm.
But misused, can create problems.

Thanks
looks like I'm gonna do it. A reputable LSX tech has a dyno and specializes in GM LSX engines.

Thanks again.
