just got my 97 back from the shop and the radio displace is LOC and the read light is flashing. Is there anything I can do short of taking it to the dealership to get fixed. I don't know the security code and don't have a owners manual. Any help is appreciated.

Yes you can!!! I had to follow this when I got my car and removed the battery for winter storage and I did not have the code come spring. http://www.corvetteforum.com/techtip...=164&TopicID=1 | ||||||||||||||||||||

Y2K, thanks for the PDF owners manual. BTW, The instructions to un-LOC the radio worked perfectly!

Are there any more of these self imposed "gotchas" when you install a new battery yourself?

I think just you can lose memory seat settings if disconnected too long and you will have to re-sync your key fobs but nothing else that needs a special code on unlock feature. That is really it.
