CM 1965 Overheating

My husband has a 1965 stock corvette 4-speed 365 hp with a cam. Car keeps over heating or getting hot at idle. He has done everything possible to eliminate this problem. Just put in today a new radiator, has new alternator, etc. among other things. Could the cam be doing this? Would you know of anything else to look at, he is at his the end of his patience level. You cannot take it anywhere if you have to sit at one point for very long, before the gauge shoots up. Please help?????

HI there,
First, please be more specific as to the cooling system.
Are you running a solid fan or a clutch fan?
Are the belts tight?
What type of water pump did you install??
Do you hear any gurgling from the tank near the battery when you are actually running?
Do you have to add coolant regularly?
How long does the car have to idle before it overheats??
Do you see steam or just a high temperature on the gauge??
Allthebest, c4c5
