Hi; I am a proud original owner of a 1989 Corvette. Since I have purchased it, due to constant misfortunes, I have not been able to drive it on regular basis and most of the time it has been garaged. There is currently ONLY 15k miles on it. Recently I have decided to start using it but since it was not driven often enough the engine has had a few issues. I have taken it to GM Dealer Mechanics hoping that they know what they are doing but after thousands of dollars I have had nothing but disappointments. They either could not fully fix the problem or when they have fixed one thing something else has gone wrong. Currently the car is overheating and since I have had such bad experience with GM Dealer Mechanics I like to take the car to a non-factory mechanic. So my question is if anyone knows a good, reputable and reasonable mechanic to do repairs on Corvettes in Long Island, New York area. Your help will be greatly appreciated. | ||||||||||||||||||||

HI there, Honestly, not all dealership mechanics are like this. But if you have spent thousands, and still not gotten satisfaction. It would be suggested to take all your receipts to the local department of motor vehicles. They will be able to determine if you have a legitimate complaint and pursue it further. I know of Vette Doctors in Amityville and they serve the public well. If you go there, make sure to bring all your receipts and documentation for repairs done. Allthebest, c4c5 |

Vette Doctors would also be my recommendation on Long Island.

Give me (pm me) your VIN and give more detail on the problems. I would like to vis your car and see what dealers have done or NOT done to your car and make a few suggestions from what I find. I could recommend someone who knows what their doing. |
| System Administrator Do not PM or email me with vehicle issues, I will not answer. Please post your questions on the board. We are not mind readers, all C4's, or C5's etc.... are not all the same.... so please follow our simple guideline and 'INCLUDE THE YEAR OF YOUR VEHICLE' with your question. | |
