On My 75 Vette the left rear drive shaft will not keep the c-clip on inside the rear end housing do I need a new side yoke or am I doing something wrong during the rear end install?

you may very well need a new yoke . was the clip overextened and loose on the yoke was the clip new how was the groove that the clip sits in were the edges worn down or rounded it should have a well defined groove Steve

CM 75 Vette with rearf end issue

I had a machine shop work on the rear end and when they opened the cover 4 clips fell out with the fluid so someone before me has put clips on as well and besides not removing the two that were missing (or in the bottom of the rear end) they didn't work either.
Of course one was chewed up but I assumed the shop would realize there was a problem with the clips when they found them in the bottom of the rear end but of course they didn't I guess my best bet would be to replace the yokes. I do remember looking at them at the shop and the grooves didn't look very defined. I will replace both yokes and hopfully that will solve my problem. i just wanted to make sure that I didn't do something to cause this during the install but I was very carefull with the install. Thanks for your help with this issue.
