Has any body thought about a pecking order in reference to the most desirable corvette to the least. Yes I think for the most part true vette owners would say the early classics would be the most desirable. I would like to see is if you had to pick a year what would it be? What is your pecking order? What year do you dislike?

| its not my pecking order but the first is obviously the 1967 427ci 435hp standard shift car. thats a no brainer based soley on what they sell for. the least would be whatever year c4 had the lowest horsepower and an automatic trans. that would probably be an 1984 with the crossfire injection. this is solely based on what these sell for auctions which in this case would reflect their desirability.

I put the C5 as number one. C6 would be second. Just my overall opinion.

well hard to teach an old dog new tricks but I am sure my 61 and 69 turn more heads than a c5 or c6 although I will have one for a driver before to long they are great machines Steve

We might be accussed of bias but all corvettes are great... dollar for performance value though, the C5 cannot be matched. If the prices of the C6Z continue to fall like a brick then the pecking order will change. You can get a kick ass C5 for $12K dollars there is no matching that deal... 1962 is my favorite but cannot afford one, would not want to drive it every day and it wont go 160 mph all day, like the C5. The C5 is plentiful for parts easy to work on and it will tell you whats ailing it, world class performance under 20k... case closed | ||||||||||||||||||||

i agree with vettex. the new zr1 will eventually reign supreme. historically, horse power is what makes the car desirable and worth the largest amount of cash. however, its not out yet and it will take 20 years to knock the 67/427 off as the king of the hill. most vette purists will never see a catyletic converter car as anything real so it could take awhile.
