Ok I have a 94 LT-1 Auto trans with 103,000 miles, a few days ago the PKE light came on and then i heard a click and the rear hatch opened at 45MPH , so the light went off after disconecting the battery, ( i dont have key fobs ) so a few days later i drove the car to work and when it was time to go home the car would not start, turn the key and the motor will not crank, so the battery tested good, the starter tested good, i tried to read codes with my moniter but it read vehicle is not responding and i had the key on and i was using the correct cable, i also tried to start the car by jumping the sylenoid and battery side of the starter with the key on and it started and ran for 5 seconds and died as if the key was turned off,

HI there, You most likely need an ignition lock cylinder or a CCM. The CCM didnt see your key in the ignition and lit the PKE and popped the trunk. My bet, is that you can see the 'security light' staying on when you attempt to turn the key. If the starter relay is not being turned on, that may be the culprit. Unfortunately, a scan of the system with a Tech 2 is the only way to find out the codes and determine fault. Allthebest, c4c5 |

its basically the gm scan/programming tool that the dealerships use.

Hello, Ok the vette is running again I replaced the ignition lock cylinder and during the removal I found one of the two wires was cut in half so i installed the new one and hooked up the V.A.T.S. bypass plug and it started , My 94 has stranded me so many times I have lost count , cool car but it has been very undependable with respect to the Optispark nightmare that I corrected with a vented MSD Opti, so far it has given me very good performance . Im still not going to ever sell my Vette .

glad you got it going again. if you still have the part number of the msd vented opti post it up. it may help others who are having opti problems as well.
