But the since I'm "new" back in the US from Afganistan - I've noticed that the Shell stations around me have this new addetive...some sorta nitrogen....they also use 10% ethenol...has this been proven just as effective?
I only use the Techron about once or twice a year, just as a preventative measure (since there are few Top Tier gas companies around here), unless the gauge is reading erratically. Which doesn't seem to be the issue in your case.

Shell is a Top Tier gas. So, you shouldn't need to add Techron at all unless you think it might help clean things up.

10% ethanol is used almost everywhere in the US these days. It's a government mandate. Our cars are designed to use this. The worst part is losing about 10% in mileage.

True?
I've heard this about some cars. But, it's more of a safety issue. It's best to have the car shut off and no one entering or leaving the car during fueling.

Shimokawa: I feel your pain. If it does not get fixed right this time, find a local Corvette club using online resources and contact them for a good dealership for service. But, I HOPE it gets straightened out today.

Well,

They said they are replacing the left side fuel sensor...according to them, the car has already had the right side sensor replaced in a prior warranty work.

Also, the mechanic thinks there is a possibility that the left tank is not crossleveling with the right tank...and that a tube or pipe that has a o-ring in it might be blocking that fuel transfer, that is why the left tank can be full and the car still acts like it's out of gas.

Anyways, they should be able to get me some more insight this afternoon....

I'll keep ya'll posted

Thanks!

On my c5z I fill the tank with key on (not running) all the time. I want to see the fuel level to set it for different race events. Never a problem. See the needle move means it's working.

SSG Barnes Thank You for you service, Im a veteran of the Vietnam mess. I came home and bought a 1969 Jaguar XKE. So I can feel your pain. It good that you have a warrent thu "CarMax" and they let it go to a chevy repair shop. Stay after them untill it fixed. and drive the crap out of it while its still under warrenty to see if any thing else rears its ugly head. Enjoy your new ride and welcome back to "The World" as we use to say in Nam!
