CM clutch direction

I have a 94 cpe with a 6spd...had clutch troubles and think the clutch may have been in backwards...on one side of the disk with the spline teeth it says "fw side" does this side face the engine?

i think "fw" is fly wheel, but not sure...

it faced the rear of the car when i took it out and i had some significant chatter...i think it was installed by the previous owner facing the wrong direction and i want to install correctly...

thanks for your help...
