For some reason the tire inflation sticker is missing from my 1998 convertible with automatic transmission. What is the recommended tire pressure? I have been running 30 pounds front and rear. Also I am purchasing the Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus tires, rather than the PS2 tires. Did I make the right choice?

30 psi front and rear are the factory recommended pressures. 30 psi in the rear tires wore the center out of my rear tires slightly (by a 2mm difference between center and side tread) and the front tires wore perfectly even at 30 psi, so I am now running 28 psi in the rears, 30 psi in front. Your tire choice is fine, there is no perfect tire, it all depends on your needs.

30 is too high? I've run 36 for years without abnormal tire wear (granted, I drive 2k a year, at best). My fillings are loose, but the car corners nice!

30 psi is not too high, it's what GM recommends. It did however wear the center tread of my rear tires slightly faster than the outer tread, but only by 2mm over 25k miles, definately not a severe amount.

My 2003 calles for 30 PSI front and rear, but the tire sensors reads about 28 PSI at that setting, and the tire rims leak about a pound a month so I set the tires by a tire guage at 31 or 32PSI all around and the sensors read 30 PSI. But I don't drive all that much anymore, and if I set the tires at 20 PSI, once I drive a few miles the reading on the DIC read 30 PSI? , So. . .
