Question Turbo 350 Automatic to a 4 speed manual.

I was wondering what the approximate cost of changing my Turbo 350 auto to a 4 speed manual trans. also who in the central NJ area would do it. I have a 1972 Conv. with a 350 cid. no a/c no heat. Thanks.

If you are going to go through all of this effort check into some of the 5or 6 speed conversions I think you would be much happier in the long run and it would be a fairly labor intensive job .I am quite sure the pedals would have to be used and the newer conversion would probably be a hydraulic clutch set with may be easier than the old mechanical linkage to try and install just something to think about Steve

I heard some of those 5 and 6 speeds are quite expensive. Thats why I thought that putting in an oem tranny would be easier and less expensive. Us retired guys have to watch our pennies somewhat. Thanks for getting back to me .

You may want to weigh your options when you start looking for all the parts it may be more money than you thought to get good semi original parts and the difference may not be that bad Steve ( look for a used setup )
