When my car is cold, sometimes the shift lever button gives me a lot of resistance and does not want to move from park to any gear. Any ideas what is causing this?

It is just the button that will not go down fully at times. Once it does go down, it shifts OK

Try pushing forward on the lever as you push down on the button. Jim

Still getting hung up. I have a quote from my local Chevy Dealer to replace the linkage and shifter assembly @ $450. Can anyone verify if this is the correct price? Thanks, Jim

Just curious, how cold are you talking about, and do you a know a temp range that it doesn't work?

HI there, Linkage and shifter assembly, huh? No way to say, because we dont know what they charge for labor. Aftermarket shift knobs are sometimes the cause of problems like this. Allthebest, c4c5 |

I should have been more clear. My reference to "Cold" is just the first start of the day, anytime during the year
