Unhappy Service Active Handling Soon

Im getting this message " Service Active Handling Soon" message on the DIC on my '02 a4 Vert .
Also, occasionally while driving the ACTIVE HANDLING message will appear on the DIC and the car will brake to the right . It's sort of scary . The brake petal will also depress further when the message appears if I'm braking at the time .

What type of service is required to correct this and can a typical backyard mechanic handle it with help from you wonderful people here !!!!

I havent checked for codes yet, but the last time it happened there weren't any .

If the Service Active Handling Soon message came on there should be a code stored in the DIC. Check the codes and post all of them.

HI there,
No, if you have basic hand tool skilz, then you can remove the steering column and replace the steering wheel position sensor at the base of the column.
