Hi, I recently purchased a, one owner GM Certified '06 3LT Z51 6 spd coupe with 4,800 miles on it. The car runs great and is in almost new condition. My problem is when I start the car the DIC sends the message, SERVICE TIRE SENSOR. When I scroll through the guages, the tire pressure for all four wheels read "XX" ex: FLXX, FRXX, etc. What could be the cause of this condition?? Is there anything I can do to reset it myself or is this a trip to the dealer? Thanks for any help. - Bob

HI there, I think Andy is right. Probably need your tire pressure sensors programmed and set, as the XXX usually indicates a bad sensor. But if all 4 are gone, probably needs a programming. As long as your fobs work, you should be fine with a program. Allthebest, c4c5 |

On my 08 coupe I get "Service LR Tire Sensor" and my left rear tire reads XX pressure. After driving the car for 5-10 miles, and I restart it, the message is no longer there and the tire pressure reading is normal. This cycle has occurred 5 or 6 times. I am assuming the LR tire sensor is defective and needs replacement. I believe the sensor replacement can be done without removing the tire from the rim. The tech would push the tire bead down and over the sensor for access. Does the tire need to be balanced after this procedure? Thanks for any responses!

Specific schrader valve caps are needed for the sensors as the stems are antennae. "Special" aftermarket caps have caused problems. Or,it could be the battery on the sending unit...
