CM no start

i have a 2007 coupe.i am an ase master tech, nissan master tech and former gm master tech.i brought the car to the dealership yesterday for the diif.noise, the roof creak and the battery going dead after the car sits for 10 days.i already knew the tsb's for all of these problems.the diff. was flushed and is quiet now, they siliconed the roof instead of replacing the inserts and wrapping them with flocking tape.i dont care about that i will replace them myself,i already wrapped them with foam and it works for about a month.they reflashed the rcdlm for the battery issue which is the correct fix,but today my wife used the car and on 2 occaisions it would not start.no crank.she said she kept trying both times and it eventually started.the car only has 4,300 miles on it.we have 2 c5's also.could this problem have anything to do with the reflash or is it just a coincidence that it is happening now.anyone have an idea?

Hi there,
Any aftermarket accessories can produce problems with the starting sequence, especially electronics.
Second, if all they did was reprogram the RCDLR without checking the BCM, PCM, then they didnt follow the revision correctly.

nothing aftermarket in the car at all.i have no way of knowing how they did the revision.i do have a tech2 with candi module.is there any way i can check to see if the rcdlr was updated correctly?i tried staring it 5 times last night and didnt have a problem.i guess its intermittent as it only happened to my wife twice.it just seems strange that it has never happened before they did the update.

The DIC should display something when there's a failure. (NO FOBS DETECTED for example.) 1 .Check the battery in your wife's FOB.
1a. Find out where she stores her FOB in the car when attempting to start.
2. Find out where she stows her GPS or cellular phone (RF interference can cause havoc with the C6 electronics (BIG TIME!))
3. Any other electronic devices can cause problems:
3a. IPOD music devices
3b.Garagedoor openers (especially the newer ones that random code for security purposes.)
3c. Gate openers
3d. CB radio or walkie-talkie
3e. Scanner

Speaking from personal experience, when you have to explain to your wife that she is causing the problem (whether it be computers, cars, audio/video eq. etc) it's NOT GOING TO GO WELL.

Good point froggy47! You might want to hide the weapons before having this conversation!

I think you may be onto something here. RF interferrence can be caused by things being too close to each other.

If this is a manual transmission car, maybe she didn't have the clutch all the way in!

Unhappy no start - FOB

I am at my wits end to solve my issue. I'll post it here as it is FOB related. 2005 Coupe Base model. out of the blue, Fob stopped working. 2nd FOb as well. can't unlock doors, no fob detected, etc etc. From reading up the past 24 hours, you all know the symptoms.

1. replaced both batteries in FOBs.
2. I tried holding both lock-unlock, didn't work.
3. FOB in glove box slot-didn't work.
4. Did the long 30 min FOB re-programming (auto-learn). didn't work.
5. I have unplugged garage door opener, turned off all cell phones. no solution.
6. cleaned battery terminals. Hooked up charger (shows full charge)

I guess I have to contact the dealer but as it's a holiday, probably won't get a hold of them until Tuesday. Do I just bring the FOBs in or do I have to have the car towed there?

I followed the long auto-learn to a tee. The only question I have is that after Fob #2 it asks for Fob#3 and FOB #4. I hit the bottom of the button to complete the task. Is this correct? Still says "No Fob Detected".

Bummer. Can't get the car out of the garage. Luckily I had the top off and the windows down which makes for an easier entrance than setting off the alarm all of the time....
