C4C5 I think I saw you at Carlisle. Keep up the good work. I searched the archive but could not find any answers to my questions. I have a Black 2004 C5 6 speed Coupe Z51 suspension Bought a nice set of C5 2003 Z06 wheels at Carlisle this past weekend. I was not aware that they did not have TPS. I now understand that it was because of the sealant in case of a flat. Is that any reason other than the sealant not to install the TPS? I am not concerned about the extra weight of the sensor. I know the wheels are wider and I intend to install them with the correct Z06 size tires. Will there be any issues the the Active Handling? Should the wheel alignment be modified in any way because of the larger tires? Is there any other issues I should be aware of before it buy the tires and install them on my coupe? I am looking at the Michelin PS2. I understand they just recently made available the 265/40-17. Really enjoy the forum. Thanks

HI there, You can use the tires with the sensors without issue. Yes, the sealant is the ONLY reason they didnt use them on ZO6. Wheel alignment should be addressed anyway, regardless of anything else, and obtain a printout afterwards. Allthebest, c4c5 |

Should the alignment use any different values. Perhaps using the Z06 specs? No active handling issues?

HI there, There is not any real documentation to validate active handling issues. However, from what I have seen, there will not be a 'service active handling' lights. However, if you use ZO6 specifications for the alignment, you will accelerate the inside shoulder tire wear. If you use standard Corvette specs, it will be a good compromise. Allthebest, c4c5 |
