I have a '65 roadster with 225/60R15 radial tires all around and HD suspension including front and rear anti-sway bars. I've also rebuilt the recirculating-ball steering box and replace all the front-end components with new parts. The problem I'm having is wandering at moderate to high speeds even though I've had the alignment checked several times. I read an article in Corvette Fever about a year ago regarding a '66 having similar problems with radials and his alignment shop told him the original factory specs were for bias-ply tires and that he could modify the specs for radials. This seemed to fix his problem but now I need to know what changes (if any) were most likely made to the specs for toe-in, caster and camber to compensate for the "squishier" radials. Any ideas...?

Hi there, Honestly, the addition of radial tires plus your particulare driving style will taylor the alignment specs. What will you be doing with the car??? Allthebest, c4c5 |

| The radials are already on the vehicle and I've modified the suspension to add a rear anti-sway bar and increase the size of the front bar. My driving style is somewhat aggressive and I love to drive the "twisties" in the mountains. The problem I'm having is most noticeable on the straightaways as the vehicle tends to wander at moderate to high speeds. As I said, all the front-end and suspension components are new so all that is left is the alignment which I've had checked numerous times to comply with factory specs. These having been written for bias-ply tires makes them somewhat obsolete so I'm looking for some figures as to necessary changes to toe-in, camber and caster for use with radial tires on this vehicle. Thanks!

HI there, Caster should be set as HIGH as possible. 5.0 or better Camber -0.2 would be ideal. Toe +.05 Rear Camber -0.2 Toe 0.0 Allthebest, c4c5 |
