CM Brake Light Operation ?
I have a 2007 3LT, M6, Z51 Vert. The Brake lights do not operate if you just get in the car and press on the brake pedal. They also do not operate if you turn the engine off. They do work when the engine is running or if the car is in accessory mode. I have never owned a vehicle that did this, including my 99 C5. Is this normal operation or is there a problem? The 2007 service manuals are not out yet so I can't really do any trouble shooting. Any information would be appreciated. The emergency flashers work in all modes and I can hear relays activating when you press on the brake pedal in all modes.

HI there,
Yes, that is exactly how they are supposed to work.
All brake light functions are channeled through the body control module.
This way, monitoring of electrical loads is easier and more effective.
Hazards work because they are a command from the switch, into the BCM, prior to lighting the rear.
