CM A little different 'Service Engine Soon' problem

My 1990 L98 6-speed with 89K recently started sending Code 32 w/Service Engine Soon light, after about 20 min. of driving. Engine starts and runs great with no other codes.

The interesting thing is that after another 20 min. or so of continuous driving, the light goes out and stays out.

It does this consistently every day that I drive to and from work. Any ideas????

Sorry....89000 actual miles all stock front to back and a fairly recent fall tune-up (plugs, wires, coil, O2 sensor, belt, fluids, filters etc). Code 32 was showing up prior to this and has not changed.

HI there,
You are looking at an EGR diagnostic issue.

Now, that being said, it could be the EGR temp switch, the vacuum to the EGR solenoid.

You can check to see if there is a grounded switch by using a test lamp connected to B+.

Just disconnect the switch and touch the test light to it.

If it lights, its shorted out and needs to be replaced.

Allthebest, c4c5
