CM Holley double Pumper

This carburetor will fit but may be too much carb for the 327-300. Maybe you could trade it with someone for the correct model, which I think is a 4160 model 3810 for 327-300

Thanks for the feedback, I guess I can always hope someone out there will want to trade but in the mean time I'll try to jet the 4150 down and see what happens

i'd go pick up a quadrajet at a junk yard or a swap meet for $10 and a rebuild kit for $12 at napa. that holly is never gonna work on a base engine 327. you may also be able to pick a a carter clone made by edelbrock relatively cheap from summit racing equipment. i swear i saw them for less than $300.

Why Carter , the original carb was an Holley 4160. The bolt pattern and the intake primary and secondary holes match up . The thing I'm wondering about is the groove in the manifold and the grove in the carb don't match up and .... the fact that the carb might pump too much gas even when jetted down .The original fuel line won't match up but that a problem a little tube bending will take care of .
I guess my question(s) is ........ does the heater groove make a difference and if not, can I jet it down enough to make it run well enough to make it pleasurable to drive ???/

CM The 4160

I blocked off that groove in a 67-327 that I have to eliminate the heat causing percolation; it works very well. A friend of mine had the same dilema that you have and he jetted down two or three numbers and disconnected the rear accelerator pump. He says it works fine on his 350SB Camaro.

John- Thanks for the reply , I'm probably going to give it a try . Do you remember what you used to block it off with . There are tons of different carb base plates in the Dr Rebuild catalog I have . Maybe one of those will work or maybe there's a better way ?
I just can't see spending a sooo much when I have a free carb just sitting there .
