Hello this is my first post on this site! I have a 86 vette with a code 36 problem! I have replaced the relays with the correct replacement BWD relays not GM and the problem still comes back! The only code that comes on after the warm up is 36 when using blink codes, but when the scanner is hooked up it will come up with 41,42 & 36. I have checked the ECM for shorts and the ECT does not olm to the spec but the wires are OK and it does switch as required. I have replaced the ECT in the dist. and the olm range is the same. Is there a way to get rid of the burn off test? The circuit does work and it does get power on wire d & e. approx 5 sec after shut down and lasts for 1 sec per spec. HELP! HI there, First, nothing your saying correlates. What code are you trying to take care of, 36, 41,42 ???? Second, what is wrong with your ECT sensor???? Third, what kind of power are you getting on terminal D and E ???? How many volts and please be specific. Allthebest, c4c5 |

Sorry for the confusion! Code 36 is the only code that comes up when using the blink codes. The voltage on e & d is 13.25 to 13.5 volts during the burn off. I also checked the voltage sent from the dk/grn wire (998) at both the maf and the ecm both show 2.5 to 3.25 v when it sends the signal after burn off. What range should the voltage range be back to the ecm? I could not fine a spec? When using a Autoxray scanner it gives the other codes I listed in my post. When using my OTC scanner it has trouble reading any codes. I am refering to the module in the dist. (EST) and may have called it the wrong thing. | ||||||||||||||||||||

HI there, I would be checking the voltage feedback to the PCM, if the voltages are correct there, you might have a PCM issue. Allthebest, c4c5 |
