| Recall when Ford bragged to Wall Street they made $6000 per SUV? Don't think too many people took that happily and sales dipped significantly. Not sure it will happen to Porsche, but definitely enters my thinking when I look at Caymans. Difference is, Porsche is still relatively low-volume and high desirability. They maintain their value well and are great cars without all these American half-baked techno-weenie widgets that always fail in the fourth year. Keep in mind: most of Europe has socialized medicine. That offloads some serious expenses from manufacturers and onto taxpayers. I've heard medical benefits cost nearly $2000 per Big Three unit. Not to say I agree with socialized medicine, at least as long as we have more trial lawyers than doctors, but math is math on this one. |
