| I agree 100 percent. I'm totally satisfied with the LS3 and if GM would have added direct injection...I anticipated a 40 more ponies and a few points in gas mileage. I'm happy as long as the c7 offers as much or more hp than my present LS3 (which I am very happy with it) and offers a DSG transmission. I believe the hydroformed steel frame rails will go to a higher strength material for stronger and lighter weight. Listening to Mark Reuss in his last interview over at autoline after hours podcasts he speaks quite a bit about advances in how the frame is mated to other portions of the chassis to both lower the weight and improve structural rigidity. Something about the thickness of the materials around where metals are joined in the framework too. I believe the C7 will be the leader in this new technology for GM to use later on in its massive volume truck volume. If GM goes with 5.0 or 5.5 liter V8's with a totally new block with all the advances for more power, lower emissions and better gas mileage....all the while being lighter whats to complain about.. |
