CM 85 Bose cassette to cd player?

Does anybody know what GM bose units will work in the 85s with Bose stereo? I can't stand the look of aftermarket. I"ve been told that some Bose cd players from newer GM models look oem in older C4s.
If you guys know what unit works and looks OE, Please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help... Ken

I have a Bose unit from a Riviera in mine. Bought it and a special pigtail to make it work ago.

Looks rock stock and confuses lots of people. Think I have a photo in my album, but if not, I can post one for you.

I forgot to ask did it bolt right up or did you modify it to make it fit? Also, where did you get the adapter pigtail.
Thanks...Ken

It fit with no modifications. Same mount points, but the fader/balance knobs are just a tick snug to the fascia. No matter. It's just fine by me.

I bought the unit with the adapter plug for $295 in 1998. Found the receipt: American Corvette in Powder Springs,GA 770-943-1633. Hope they're still around!

Found this too: http://www.carstereohelp.net/trouble...vetteBose1.htm

Hope it all helps. Found it on YouTube and just linked it. Lots of such instructional videos. Very cool.

Paul, ya listening???? Think we should chip in to buy you a video camera to take to work! My little HD Sony Webbie was only $116 delivered. Maybe a Corvette Mechanic Channel???

It was tough deciphering what he was saying about where to get the adapters, but I found them and posted that link as well.

Personally, I'm curious if I did the pink wire correctly. Not as much volume as the old cassette had, so I have my doubts.
