I bought one of the 1/24 scale models from a toy store recently. From what I understand, they try to copy the real car concept as close as reasonably possible. After closer inspection, I noticed a couple of things~ 1. The doors open and rotate as they lift to open. If this is how they're to work, I notice interferrence with the engine hood "clamshell." (If either door is open, you can not open the hood.) Also, if either door is open you can not close the hood without damage. I'm envisioning quite a few damaged doors/ fenders from people not being aware of this interferrence until it's too late. Kinda like when you discover you locked your keys in the car as the door closes. 2. The rear doesn't open like the C3 cars. Is this a design flaw or a toy shortcoming? 3. The wheels are connected via 1 large nut instead of 5 lugs w/ nuts. 4. On top the engine it displays: "Hybrid Stingray" (It least it appears to still have 8 exhausts.) 5. Also on top of the engine appears to be some kind of suspension shocks laying horizontally. I would think this weight would be higher than the current suspension, making the car handle not as well. (Maybe the new design is so superior to the current system that it overcomes the weight penalty that is so high off the ground. 6. The toy is still showing the current rer suspension layout, but the front is different underneath. 7. The engine/ trans is still in the C5/C6 layout, so no mid engine yet. 8. Looking at the car from an engineers' eye, I have to wonder how much visibility there is going to be if the driver is "short" because of the low roofline and the high hoodline. I'm envisioning a lot of cars that run into curbs because you can't see anything from the front bumper to probably 20' out. That's a whole car. Opinion~ I like the shape/design of the car. Not so sure about #8 though. | ||||||||||||||||||||
