Cool 05 vert RCDLR problems

bought car in Feb10 with less than 28K. no probs util a few days ago. NO FOB Found probs started showing. Took to dealer for check and they stated no probs and reprogramed. worked for them and not me when I picked it up. Dealer stated it was the RCDLR and a new one was put in. worked fine for them and not for me after setting all day when I came to pick it up. At dealer it showed NO FOB FOUND again. They stated that one of the FOB would not hold a program and needed to be replaced. After a few minutes of playing it worked fine for several tries. Drove it home after dealer stated to bring it back when it fails again. Failed at home after sitting for 10 minutes. What the next step guys? 05 vert, last six on the VIN 130734. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Hi there,
The first thing I would do is check your battery condition.

500CCA as tested with at least 12.5 volts is critical to how it sees the fobs.

If you put the fob in the sensing pocket in the glove box, does it work ????

Thats exactly what I would be thinking, RFI or EMI.

Does it happen all the time or in one certain location ????

nothing has changed at home. it worked fine for two months and then started acting up. no rfi or emi changes that I am aware of and I have the same cell phone that has been around it all the time. I will have the battery checked and will try new batteries in the FOB. Should I get a new FOB and program it?

NO, do NOT get a new fob, until you have validated the battery of your car.

The C6 is very finicky when it comes to battery voltage. Almost "persnickity", if you will!)
Checking a battery @ rest can be misleading. It needs to be tested under a known load.
Are you parking near "high tension" lines?

No I am not near any wires at all, everything is under ground and not near where I usually park. This issue persists no matter where I am at with the car. I have not had time to check the battery and plan to do this on Sat AM. How much of and what kind on a load do you suggest to check the battery.

Sorry it took so long to get back, really busy weekend doing stuph I did not want to do. The Saturday AM battery test turns a alternator read of 13.0 and a battery read of 14.2. Hope this is enough to get a good quess as of what to do next.
