CM Early C4 reverse Lockout rods

We all know these are a wear item, but neither GM or any reproduction firms yet offer these items.

My question is this: If the '84-88 4+3 trans is just a Super T-10 that was in production for eons, can a reverse lockout rod repair kit from an earlier year be used, since its the same trans--possibly even the same shifter?

Maybe too, this fix will only apply to '84-85E before the OD was moved from the console to the shifter?

1985 Z51 4+3 trans rebuilt 5.7 TPI,(.10 over) w/ CompCams 12-262-4, 52MM Throttlebody, underdrive pulleys, reworked heads, Hypertech Thermomaster chip, & cat back exhaust
