CM '06 to '08 DIC chime and CAGS difference?

This may all be in my head, however I've owned two '06 C6s and now an '08.

The volume of the DIC chime in the '08 is barely audible when compared with the '06s I had, (I'm approaching 60 so my hearing may be getting feeble). On the '06 I did "adjust" the DIC chime volume as low as it would go per the procedure in the owners maual. It remained annoyingly loud. Cheers to Chevy if they turned the volume down at the factory.

I have also noticed that the CAGS on the MN6 seems much less intrusive on the '08. It rarely comes on. It has activated, but much more infrequently then it did with my '06s which continuously forced me to get past 2,500 rpm in 1st gear or double clutch in neutral to get around it. The '08 allows me to "short shift" into sceond at a higher RPM than before without the CAGS kicking in. Again, if this was a factory tweak, it sure is welcome.

Thanks for any info.

Hi there,

There is no information within SI about changes but I would assume you are right.

There are alot of programming differences that sometimes GM does NOT tell us about.

Allthebest, c4c5

Back in late 2006, I had a chance to "chat with" some people that were developing the C7. One of my many suggestions was to make CAGS less intrusive. Maybe it was done prior to C7...

We'll see if some of my other suggestions bare fruit.
