Thumbs down Lower body protectors (color matched "mud flaps")

I just thought I'd share a bit of information on my experience with the color match "mud flaps" I purchased for my 2000 comvert. I was getting tired of having to clean the entire bottom side of my vette after every usage due to road dust/tar. etc. I ordered a set of the color matched "flaps" from one of the parts suppliers and after receiving them, all it took was to hold them up to the car and BACK THEY WENT!

The fit was not good! The look was not good! And they would have destroyed the paint around the area they touched if any rubbing took place. So---perhaps I can save anyone some time and shipping costs, this is not a good idea. Just my opinion!! Ron

Thumbs down

LOL!! I did the same thing! I got some from MidAmerica and once I got them I noticed first I had to drill a hole in the fenders which I did not like. Second, they were made of hard plastic and my thought was there is no way these things will bend if they catch on something and not push themselves into the fender or fascia.

I sent them back and got a flat, black pair from the local auto store and used the existing inside fender screws to secure them. No issues!

I wanted something because the frist two owners had nothing 53,000 miles and all four corners had the clear coat chipped away. I recleared all four before putting the flaps on.

Now go play with your tools!
