CM Corvette death

vettewrench out mod, did the roof fastners racall on this vette a few months back. The man died the next day, after this news article was printed. This is what can happen when you play with high power or did a front wheel lock? We'll never know.

Quote:
FRAMINGHAM - A Framingham man remained in critical condition with head injuries today at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after he totaled his Corvette in a high-speed car crash Saturday, police said.

Richard Wickes, 59, of 37 Springhill Road, was in the intensive care unit at the Boston hospital yesterday, according to a hospital spokesman.

Wickes was flown to the hospital by helicopter after the 2007 Corvette Z06 he was driving struck a Verizon telephone pole near the intersection of Old Connecticut Path and Lake Road around 6 p.m. Saturday, said police spokesman Lt. Paul Shastany.

His passenger, David Farrah, of an unknown address in Sudbury, is still being treated for minor injuries in the emergency room at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, according to hospital spokeswoman Beth Donnelly.

An unconscious Wickes had to be cut from the car by Framingham firefighters following the crash, Shastany said.

The car was traveling from Wayland into Framingham at an excessive rate of speed before crashing into the pole, Shastany said. The accident is being investigated by the State Police accident reconstruction team. "The vehicle was a total loss,'' Shastany said. The pole was splintered but not knocked down.
It was cold and most likely he was driving too fast and lost traction.... sad.

Do not PM or email me with vehicle issues, I will not answer. Please post your questions on the board. We are not mind readers, all C4's, or C5's etc.... are not all the same.... so please follow our simple guideline and 'INCLUDE THE YEAR OF YOUR VEHICLE' with your question.

That sucks, course it happens every day whether it be a Vette or a Civic.

I try very hard to keep my testosterone mode driving on the track. Matter of fact I have just given a friendly wave to many Mustang/Ricer/Hemi dudes that wanted a piece of Z06.

It seems that when you know you have 99% of the cars out there beat, there is nothing left to prove.

Be safe out there & DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT IF YOU HAVE HAD A DRINK/WHATEVER.

Even ONE can turn those finely honed driving skills into mush.

Drive safe everyone. You can't enjoy your Corvette if you kill yourself or someone else because of your "lead foot".
