HI there,

It depends on which option codes you have if you even have a set screw.

Do you have DD8 on your service parts identification label in your glovebox ????

If so, you do NOT have a set screw and there is only a rotation that you can do to TRY to tighten it.

HI there,

You have one tension screw in the center.

It could be an allen or torx depending on who manufactured the mirror for GM.

HI there,

Then a picture of your mirror base would be the next thing in order to advise you correctly.

If the problem is at the swivel joint where the mirror attaches to the mount that's glued to the window, try this...

-pop the mirror off of the mount at the swivel joint

-remove the three torx screws (#8 size I believe) on the back of the mirror at the mounting point

-pull out the three pins and straighten them with some pliers

-reinstall everything

I added a glob of dielectric grease to mine so it was easier to adjust since straightening the pins made it VERY tight.
