c5 Z06, last night I developed a noise similar to the exhaust popping noise, but I ruled that out....I think. It happens in a straight line. At first I thought it was an intermittent exhaust popping noise that occurs on acceleration. It is very intermittent with no rhythmic to it.Also has the sound you hear when a tire kicks a stone in the wheel well, but would be a one time thing this is more often. Appreciate any insight, could this be the wheel spines or even engine exhaust pop as I did change the spark plugs last month. Thanks

It happens driving straight slow speeds, near constant steady throttle. I can't repeat it by acceleration or back off, of course backing off it makes the exhaust pop which this sounds a lot like it, but does it just maintaining a slow constant speed like 30 mph. Later on in the evening it didn't do it. in the heat of the afternoon is when it did it the most frequent. From a stand still going forward or reverse it doesn't repeat. HI there, Maybe your ebrake cables are hitting your wheels if they are misrouted???? Otherwise, you will need to have it evaluated. Allthebest, c4c5 |

Just took a ride, trying different maneuvers and its so random. Pulled into the garage and heard it. I guess jacking it up and start torque all the suspension parts, check brakes and look at everything. It sounds so close to the exhaust pop. It sounds like its right one time and then sometimes it seem left. I appreciate your suggestions, I'll check them out. Bob
